Take one on the day they come off
The day your wires or aligners come off is a major milestone in your record. Take one photo that day, using the same types as usual. It becomes the reference point for the photos you take during the retainer period.
Chapter 7
Keep the retainer period as part of the same timeline.

The retainer period continues after your braces come off. Adding these photos to the same record lets you look back on an unbroken timeline from the day they came off.
You can shoot less often than while wearing braces, such as once a month or once per checkup. Once you pick an interval, set a reminder so you don't forget.
If your retainer is removable, decide at the start whether to shoot with it in or out, and keep it the same every time. The more consistent the conditions, the easier the photos are to compare side by side.

Choose first vs latest in the Compare tab to place the photo from the day you started next to today's. You can also pick the photo from the day your braces came off and compare it with today.
The app is for lining up photos and looking back. It does not assess your alignment. If something catches your eye, open the photos and show them at your next checkup.
